Background
I subsequently joined the North East
Mental Health Centre working within the adult Forensic Mental Health Program as the Legal Coordinator (3 yrs) and finally as the North Bay Regional Health Centre’s Corporate Risk Manager (6 years). During this period of time I observed my fair share of troublesome situations that affected the lives of individuals, specifically issues that children had to face and the lack of support in certain situations, specifically transitions from agency/hospital services to self or community based services. When I became a Realtor, one of my goals was to give back to the community in some way, and as such, I made the decision to help provide transition support for youth within the Forensic Mental Health Program, where a few dollars can go a long way in providing a young person with what they need when they get back into the community.
What is Homes for Hospital?
In collaboration with the North Bay Regional Health Centre, we started Homes for Hospital early in 2016. Designed to assist and support the transition from Hospital to the community, be it a bus pass, lock for school, or a pair of running shoes for gym class.
How do you get involved?
To show your support for the program, anyone that lists or purchases a home with me, Shawn Roy, Remax Legend Real Estate Inc., Brokerage, I will donate up to $200.00 to the Homes for Hospital Program when your transaction is complete.
